John Hardy: My green school dream | Video on TED.com

John Hardy: My green school dream | Video on TED.com

My analysis of this presentation video

a) Impression
John Hardy presents his project of Green School in Bali which he started after selling his jewelry company in 2007. At Green School, kids study in a environment surrounded with green and learn not only how to read and write but also how to built with bamboo and how to grow rice crops. More than 20 nationalities mingle in the Green School, and it is one of the model style of a globalized world. He is presenting a new project for most of the people but his idea sure is an inspiring idea to many people.

His talk is very persuasive, even though he does not talk so passionate.

b) Strengths of his speech
The strengths of the presenter is that he uses pause very efficiently in order to emphases what is he wants to say. His use of pause makes the listener focus more to what he speak. He includes jokes without changing tones while he speaks.

c)Weakness
He has a monotone intonation which makes all the sentences hear similar. I'm not sure if this is so, but in the latter half of his speech, he seem to be reading something and not looking at the audience. However, his new idea was very persuasive for me and it was very interesting for me.
